According to statistics from the federal office for statistics in Germany, a total of  more than 477.000 Africans reside in Germany, under which 193.000 are women and 286.000 are men. In the new federal states, a total amount of 24.000 Africans including 7,000 women and 17.000 men. Africans holding the German nationality are 115 women to 153 men. In the former federal states of Germany, 453.000 Africans of sub-Saharan amongst which are 187 women and 267 men.
